Little stone equals a BIG impact in this snazzy style! This beginner class shows how to use 4 wires and create the flowing wire accent across the front of the stone. You may choose to go asymmetrical as shown here or a more traditional route with the wraps straight across from each other. This picture shows the remaining wires coming down below the stone in a plain gathered section at the bottom. It features a double rabbit ear bail. The possibility of adding beads and crystals abound! You can add them at the top instead of the side cinnamon rolls and at the bottom for some nice dangley movement.
I love this style for the small stones that we really want to show off! We start at the bottom and adjust our side wraps to where we want them (notice these are offset), and adding just a bit more length to the wires, we are able to gather all the wires at the top and add whatever we like to accent with and a double rabbit ear bail for the chain. Then we can gracefully arc our wires down under the stone and end them in cinnamon rolls! This style adds more protection for delicate stones! PLUS you don't have to make this 'heart' shape! You can make this diamond, square, rectangle - any shape you like!
This style is suitable for beginner and intermediate wire wrappers. We start with a simple formula that works for every stone regardless of the shape or size, and work our way to the top where we create double rabbit ear loops for the chain to fit, and then on to the many variations to decorate the top.
Each student gets to decide on what they would like to do with the top wires. There are suggestions but this is completely up to what you want to do! To add beads or not, to add a dangle or not, is completely your choice!
